Al & Tish Walker

Al & Tish Walker have attended Word of Life Christian Center for two years and have been married for three years. Both have grown to understand that giving is such an important part of their daily walk with each other and in their relationship with God Almighty. Not only has their marriage grown to a place of absolute happiness and stability, they have experienced the favor of God because of their faithfulness in giving. They believe wholeheartedly that giving tithes and sowing seed into the Kingdom of God has been life changing. They firmly believe that God cannot be out given and they always go above and beyond their tithe, which is ten percent of the sanctified gross income. They believe that the blessings are actually released because of obedience to sow seed and give special offerings above their tithe.

Although they experience the favor of God in many avenues of life, one instance, within their journey only confirmed that giving will always open doors to Gods favor. They started to believe for a particular house that the realtor, at the time, told them was too expensive for them, based upon their combined income. However: Al and Tish were not moved by the realtor’s words and stood and believed that God would make a way. At one point, they walked through the house praying and believing that someday the walk would become a part of their daily routine. One day they received a call from the realtor stating that the house was under contract with another couple and that she was sorry for having to communicate the bad news. Nevertheless,  Al and Tish remained confident that their prayers would be answered and their faithful walk with God would be rewarded with that very house.

It turned out that the house went through three actual contracts in a ten month period and all three couples failed to assume that property. One day, Al received a call from the realtor stating that she was actually starting to believe that the house was supposed to be theirs after all, since every other contract fell through and she knew that their faith was tied to that house.  They started to question themselves about the cost of the house and the demands from a financial standpoint that it would put on them.  Once again, they believed that God would make a way where there seemed to be no way.

On Easter Sunday they gave a resurrection seed, which is an offering that ask for your best. The very next day, they received a call from the realtor stating that Al and Tish were in a position to claim what they believed to be theirs. The most fascinating part of the story is that they claimed possession of that house with an offer of $100,000 less of the original asking price.  To add to the blessing,  the seller put an additional $20,000 into renovating the house throughout the sale of the property. So they saved $120,000 dollars, which answered their prayer of relief of financial concern. So not only was the house theirs, God made sure, through their unmoving faith and consistent giving that their dream house was theirs at a price that allowed them the freedom to maintain their act of giving. Al believes that Pastor Ford helped Him better understand that consistent tithing, sowing seed and obedience to Gods will, always opens the windows of Heaven.

Billison & Hilda Begay

Billison & Hilda Begay have attended Word of Life Christian Center for a little more than six years as a married couple. During that time they learned, through the word of God and Pastor Fords guidance, the importance of following the principle of tithing and giving into the Kingdom of God. In January, 2005, a guest speaker, Dr. Nasir Saddiki of Wisdom Ministries, helped confirm that consistent tithing and sowing seed toward particular needs would help contribute to positive results in negative situations. They started to understand that helping support the Kingdom of God, actually, opened the door to God contributing in many ways to their own lives.

Shortly after hearing the spoken word of God, their nineteen year old daughter started to walk opposite of Gods direction. She became disobedient to authority and became rebellious towards her mother and father and decided that moving out would benefit all. No matter what her mother said or did, she was unwilling to come into agreement with the advice of her mother and continued to live life as she saw fit. Nevertheless: Hilda understood the power of prayer and sowing seed toward needs. She and her husband decided to plant a seed into Gods Kingdom, believing for their daughter’s salvation and recommitment to Gods way of life. They stopped trying to convince her of her wrongdoing and surrendered their cares and burdens upon God Almighty. They planted a seed and stood by faith to receive their harvest of her salvation.

To make a long story short almost a year later, while at a revival in Whiterock, Billison and Hilda were assisting Pastor Ford in welcoming the presence of God through praise and worship. They noticed their daughter sitting in the room and absorbing the word of God being spoken that night. They began to praise God for their daughter’s attendance and stood believing that this night would become the night of her breakthrough and their answer from God. As Pastor made an alter call for salvation she walked on her own free will to the alter and rededicated her life to the Lord. She moved back in with her parents the next day, to run from the lifestyle that she found no success in, realizing that she made a mistake by not listening to her parents and continuing the life of Gods way.

Their faith in God grew to a new level and their decision to contribute to the church became more concrete. They also realize now, before their consistent tithing, struggle consumed their lives, but after tithing on a regular basis, struggle is no more. Billison has experienced supernatural increase on his job and experienced Gods favor in many instances. They know that God has paved a path of comfort and stability for their family. They understand that because of their willingness to adhere to the principles of God and their obedience to live by faith that the pathway of life will continue to be bright. They thank God for the truth that is taught from the pulpit of Word of Life Christian Center and the experiences of that truth, which has allowed them to encounter Gods type of freedom.
