Al & Tish Walker have attended Word of Life Christian Center for two years and have been married for three years. Both have grown to understand that giving is such an important part of their daily walk with each other and in their relationship with God Almighty. Not only has their marriage grown to a place of absolute happiness and stability, they have experienced the favor of God because of their faithfulness in giving. They believe wholeheartedly that giving tithes and sowing seed into the Kingdom of God has been life changing. They firmly believe that God cannot be out given and they always go above and beyond their tithe, which is ten percent of the sanctified gross income. They believe that the blessings are actually released because of obedience to sow seed and give special offerings above their tithe.
Although they experience the favor of God in many avenues of life, one instance, within their journey only confirmed that giving will always open doors to Gods favor. They started to believe for a particular house that the realtor, at the time, told them was too expensive for them, based upon their combined income. However: Al and Tish were not moved by the realtor’s words and stood and believed that God would make a way. At one point, they walked through the house praying and believing that someday the walk would become a part of their daily routine. One day they received a call from the realtor stating that the house was under contract with another couple and that she was sorry for having to communicate the bad news. Nevertheless, Al and Tish remained confident that their prayers would be answered and their faithful walk with God would be rewarded with that very house.
It turned out that the house went through three actual contracts in a ten month period and all three couples failed to assume that property. One day, Al received a call from the realtor stating that she was actually starting to believe that the house was supposed to be theirs after all, since every other contract fell through and she knew that their faith was tied to that house. They started to question themselves about the cost of the house and the demands from a financial standpoint that it would put on them. Once again, they believed that God would make a way where there seemed to be no way.
On Easter Sunday they gave a resurrection seed, which is an offering that ask for your best. The very next day, they received a call from the realtor stating that Al and Tish were in a position to claim what they believed to be theirs. The most fascinating part of the story is that they claimed possession of that house with an offer of $100,000 less of the original asking price. To add to the blessing, the seller put an additional $20,000 into renovating the house throughout the sale of the property. So they saved $120,000 dollars, which answered their prayer of relief of financial concern. So not only was the house theirs, God made sure, through their unmoving faith and consistent giving that their dream house was theirs at a price that allowed them the freedom to maintain their act of giving. Al believes that Pastor Ford helped Him better understand that consistent tithing, sowing seed and obedience to Gods will, always opens the windows of Heaven.
